MP Mujibar Rahuman said that the Prime Minister will be informed regarding the incident that occurred between Deputy Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare Ranjan Ramanayake and a journalist yesterday.

He said this during a press conference held at Sirikotha, United National Party Head Office today.

MP Rahuman further said that it is a responsibility of the current government to examine and act upon such incidents since during the former government rights of media were heavily violated and UNP used to protest against it.

The Deputy Minister was involved in a heated exchange yesterday during a press conference with a journalist. The dispute erupted over some comments made on the murder of Lasantha Wickrematunge, to which Ramanayake expressed his displeasure.
