National Freedom Front Leader and UPFA MP Wimal Weerawansa appeared before the FCID a short while ago to give a statement on the alleged misuse of state vehicles when he was a Cabinet Minister of the Mahinda Rajapaksa government.

The FCID, on September 13, filed a B report in the Fort Magistrate's Court on an investigation against Weerawansa for the misappropriation of Rs 41 million by allowing his staff members use around 40 state vehicles belonging to the State Engineering Corporation.

Weerawansa appeared before the FCID to give a statement on September 14.
