The Tamil National alliance says the protest of Eluga Thamil is not suitable at this time when discussions are conducted with regard to new constitution. Parliamentarian M.A. Sumandiran alleged that this protest was organized by Tamil Council headed by chief minister C.V. Vigneswaran.
He further said these protests should not be conducted at this moment where the Tamil people look forward to a better future through the proposed new constitution. Mr. Sumandiran made these remarks during an interview with BBC Sandeshaya service. He further noted this protest will create suspicion among the southern people about the Tamil community. Therefore, the protesters in the North should be aware about these developments when conducting these demonstrations. The Tamil National Alliance is committed to find a just and fair solution to the Tamil community through democratic means and constitutional reforms , he added.
