The pro-LTTE website TamilNet expressed its support at the Eluga Tamil (Tamil People Arise) protest organized by Tamil People's Congress led by Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran.

This is the biggest 'uprising' since the Pongu Tamil 'uprisings', TamilNet said.

It also snubbed the ITAK, the largest party in the Tamil National Alliance, and said that the people were giving them a clear message too.

According to TamilNet, 15,000 people attended the protests.
