Surrey Head Coach Michael di Venuto expressed his deep satisfaction at Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara's signing of a further one-year contract with his team by tweeting that it was "Nice to have the King back again."
Sangakkara has been pivotal in the success of the Surrey county team since his move there.
The 38-year-old batsman scored 1,039 runs at an average of 49.47 in the County Championship this season.
Sangakkara also scored 278 runs in seven innings in the One-Day Cup as Surrey reached the final, and 228 runs in eight T20 Blast appearances.
An England and Surrey cricketer, Stuart Meaker, recently attracted considerable attention for equaling Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara to God.
He came on Twitter on August 18 to make this statement after Sangakkara ensured Surrey a thrilling last ball, one wicket victory against Northamptonshire in the third quarterfinal of the Royal London One Day Cup.
