Lanka Sama Samaja Party will support the new party to be launched by the supporters of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, its General Secretary Tissa Vitharana said.

He confirmed that the new party will be definitely formed.

A group of local councilors backing Rajapaksa said yesterday that the new party will be launched on October 8. The symbol of the party is said to be the white lotus.
