The CID today told Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris that some body parts of Wasim Thajudeen were transported out of the mortuary in Colombo to the SAITM in a vehicle when Ananda Samarasekara was the Colombo Chief JMO.
Overall, fifteen bags containing body parts of various individuals had been transferred, the CID said. The CID added that a witness has given a statement to this effect.
Meanwhile, the CID also said that the investigations on the calls originating from the Presidential Secretariat on the night of the incident is being continued.
Former Senior DIG Anura Senanayake and former Narahenpita Crimes OIC Sumith Perera were remanded till October 5 over the suppression of evidence regarding the investigation.
