The trial against Hirunika Premachandra and eight others for the alleged abduction of a youth at Dematagoda in 2015 was fixed for January 10 and 11 by Colombo High Court Judge Padmini N. Ranawaka today.

Indictment was served on the nine suspects who were released on a cash bail of Rs 50,000 and two sureties of Rs. 500,000 each.

The youth was abducted on December 21, 2015, at Dematagoda. He was later released. A defender which belongs to Premachandra was used in the abduction. Meanwhile, the abducted youth told police that he was threatened by Premachandra after his abduction.
