Excise officials on Saturday raided the premises where an event named "Hikka Beach Party 2016" was being held in the Hikkaduwa beach, and arrested an organizer of the event.

The Colombo Special Raids Unit officials of the Excise Department arrested this individual with a stock of illegal alcohol. Meanwhile, they have arrested a stock of local and foreign alcohol sold at the premises without proper licenses.

The event has reportedly drawn the participation of 3000 youth aged between 18 to 25. The event had been organized through social media.

A ticket has been priced at Rs 2000 and other events were charged separately.
