President Maithripala Sirisena will leave for the US to attend the 71st General Assembly of the UN in New York.
The General Assembly meeting will be held from September 19 to 26. The President is due to address the General Assembly on Wednesday.
Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera, Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka, Skills Development and Vocational Training Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe, Provincial Council and Local Government Minister Faizer Musthafa would be among the delegates leaving for New York.
This will be the final General Assembly during the tenure of present UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
