UNP MP Hirunika Premachandra released a photograph of her father Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra's body after he was shot, to emphasize that a person who is shot through his head cannot survive.

"Everytime I see this picture I don't think it's real, because I only remember his handsome face with a smile on. For the first time in my life I am posting this picture.. not for your sympathy but for you to understand this is how 'shot in the head' looks like. Its impossible to live even a second after a shot like this... something to think about" she said on her Facebook Page.

Premachandra called for action on the doctor who allegedly deliberately gave a wrong diagnosis of the condition of former MP Duminda Silva. It was said that Silva had also been shot in the head in the shootout.

The incident occurred on October 8, 2011, and four people including Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra were shot dead. Five people, including Duminda Silva were convicted of the murder and were handed over the death penalty.
