Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training Mahinda Samarasinghe will represent President Maithripala Sirisena at the Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Caracas, Venezuela later this week.

The 17th Summit of the NAM will be held on November 17 and 18. The Sri Lanka delegation will include other officials assigned by the Foreign Ministry.

The NAM currently has 120 member states.

It was earlier expected that the President will take part in the summit before he left for New York to take part in the 71st General Assembly of the UN.

Sirisena is to address the UN General Assembly on September 21.
