Slovenian Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec signed a memorandum of political and economic cooperation on Wednesday with his Sri Lankan counterpart Mangala Samaraweera. Erjavec said that the first meetings concerning the memorandum would be held next year in Sri Lanka.

Samaraweera was on a trip to Slovenia to take part in the Bled Strategic Forum. He met the President and the Prime Minister of Slovenia during the visit. This was the first high-level visit from Sri Lanka to the Republic of Slovenia since the election of the new Government in January 2015.
