Election observers said that Sri Lanka's 2024 parliamentary election is peaceful, fair, and transparent following a thorough assessment by a team of 10 foreign observers. The report, released by the Election Commission, highlights the high standards of transparency maintained throughout the election process.

R.M.A.L Rathnayake, Chairman of the Election Commission, commended the efforts, noting the thoroughness of the monitoring and the integrity of the election. The final reports from the Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) and European Union (EU) observers are expected to be released tomorrow.

This year’s election was closely observed by over 10,000 local and international monitors, including 43 foreign representatives: 30 from ANFREL, three from the EU, and 10 from neighboring countries.
Additionally, nearly 10,000 local observers from 10 different organizations, including 5,000 deployed by PAFFREL, ensured comprehensive surveillance of the election process, with mobile monitoring operations authorized for eight organizations.
