The Sri Lanka Freedom Party today claimed that the 65th party anniversary convention held in Kurunegala yesterday was successful despite the boycott by 'Joint Opposition' MPs.

Speaking to the media this morning, Western Province Chief Minister Isura Devapriya claimed that yesterday's convention saw the largest crowds in the history of the party conventions.

Meanwhile, UPFA General Secretary Mahinda Amaraweera also said that the convention was a resounding success despite the challenges thrown at it by the 'Joint Opposition.'

The convention was held in Maligapitiya Ground, Kurunegala yesterday.
