A request has been made from the President to replace Rishad Bathiudeen as Minister of Trade and Industry over the investigation on the import of a rice stock to the CWE.

The Organization for the Protection of Consumer Rights, in a letter to the President, requests him to replace Bathiudeen over the investigation being done by the PRECIFAC.

Bathiudeen recently said that the investigation is actually on a import of rice during the former government's era. However, the Organization for the Protection of Consumer Rights say that the investigation is on Bathiudeen.
