Tamil United Liberation Front leader V. Anandasangaree said that he has held discussions with several other party leaders to form a new political party.

The new party is to be named Democratic Tamil National Front, Anandasangaree said in a media release.

Accordingly, he has held talks with EPDP leader Douglas Devananda, former Deputy Minister Prabha Ganesan and others on forming the new party.

He added that the new party is being launched since the TNA is not addressing the concerns of the Tamil people.

The TULF has seen its popularity diminish in recent years, following the formation of the TNA.
