Colombo Special High Court re-issued summons to Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa to appear in court on June 27 to give evidence regarding the case pertaining to the Pittala Junction suicide blast targeting him.

He had been issued summons today, but a lawyer appeared on behalf of him and stated that he could not attend court as was abroad.

The bomb blast took place at 10.39 a.m. on December 1, 2006, at Pittala Junction, Kollupitiya. Two army personnel died in the blast.

Five suspected LTTE cadres have been indicted regarding the bomb attack.
