Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe told media in Beijing that he discussed his trip to China with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa before he left Sri Lanka.
Wrapping up his trip to China today, he said that he also discussed the trip with former President Chandrika Kumaratunga.
"I had discussion with Rajapaksa few days ago we came. We briefed him on issue we were going to discuss in China. He was for it. Also discussed with Kumaratunga, because we want to build consensus on long-term arrangement with China," he said.
He also said that India should not have any security concern regarding the Port City project since it has been re-negotiated with China.
Sri Lanka was prepared to discuss it with India further, he also said.
