Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna Political Bureau Member K. D. Lalkantha said that they had received information regarding a conspiracy of excluding JVP members from provincial and Pradeshiya Sabha councils.

Party had received information that it is to be done through a new electoral system, Lalkantha said. He stated that a group of party members had already visited the President to discuss about the issue.

“We have become an obstacle for people who misuse public money. When they spend public money for personal entertainment, we expose them. So they want to exclude us from politics”, Lalkantha added.
