Former JVP leader Somawansa Amarasinghe today withdrew a case filed at the Commercial High Court against former JVP Propaganda Secretary and current National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa, over a book written by the latter.
Amarasinghe had filed a court case against Weerawansa, claiming Rs 100 million as damages for statements in the book "Naththa Wenuvata Aththa" written by Weerawansa after he left the JVP.
The two parties informed court that they had come to an agreement to settle the dispute.
Weerawansa also faces another case filed by JVP General Secretary.
Amarasinghe left the JVP in April 2015, and later formed a new party. He reconciled with Weerawansa recently and now supports the 'Joint Opposition'.
