An American parachutist was rescued after his parachute was entangled in a coconut tree at Fort, Colombo, thereby stranding him in the air.

The parachutist was jumping from the top of the Bank of Ceylon building.

There were no external injuries to the parachutist.

This comes days after an Australian parachutist was injured following a jump from the World Trade Centre building.
