The wife of the the man who appeared on a photo holding a peacock and a gun has given a statement to the Wennapuwa Police, clearing her husband.

According to the woman, they had found the peacock dead on the road on their way to a camping trip.

They took the carcass as it could not be left there and someone had snapped the photo while they were in the camping site, she further claimed.

She added that her husband was working in Italy but is prepared to cooperate with the investigations.
