UNP Colombo District Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake has been ranked as the most active member in Parliament during 2012-2013 period.  

The ranking has been done by Manthri.lk which monitors performance of politicians in Sri Lanka. 

JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake has been ranked as the second most active member according to the same ranking. 

Chief Government Whip Dinesh Gunawardena, Chief Opposition Whip John Amaratunga, UNP Parliamentarian Sajith Premadasa, UNP Parliamentarian Buddhika Pathirana, UNP Parliamentarian Ajith P. Perera, UNP Parliamentarian Sujeewa Senasinghe, JVP Parliamentarian Sunil Hadunnetti and Minister Sarath Amunugama are rest of the members in the top ten. 

The methodology of the ranking is listed in the website as follows,

"Step 1

Download a parliamentary Hansard

Step 2

Analyse each statement in the Hansard according to the Verite Research designed coding guide (refer FAQ 2).

Step 3

Input the records into the computer system and apply the Verite Research computed scores, which are based on the concept of productive time (refer FAQ 5)."
