Sri Lanka Cricket President, Deputy Speaker and Chairman of Committees Thilanga Sumathipala said that he would take legal actions against the Minister of Ports and Shipping, Arjuna Ranatunga.

He stated this today at a media briefing held at Sri Lanka Cricket headquarters.

Ranatunga mentioned that he lost the SLC election due to the existence of a cricket mafia, yesterday. He said that he could win any election but he lost this one, due to the mafia.

Commenting on this statement, Sumathipala said that there was no point of blaming the umpire after losing a match.
