The alleged drug smuggler Mohamed Siddique was further remanded until October 16 today by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.

The CID told the court that Siddique is one of the principle drug smugglers responsible for sending huge quantities of drugs to the island. When he was abroad, he used to correspond with a prison inmate named Suranga Sampath by telephone, CID informed further.

Sampath had handled the local network for Siddique, the CID further said.
