North Central Province Governor P.B Dissanayake was hospitalized during a World's Elders' Day event held at the Elders Home in Saliyapura, after he fainted suddenly.

The governor fainted after he had completed his speech, and was rushed to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital by the organizers.

According to the hospital reports, his condition is not serious.
