Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake said that he will make a special statement on the fiscal situation of the country within the next couple of days.
“We will also explain how the emerging global economic trends would impact the country’s economy,” he stated, speaking to the media after a meeting with a CIMA delegation yesterday.
Revealing that he will present the budget on November 20, he called upon all stakeholders to submit their proposals.
However, Karunanayake reminded that the government has no plans on privatizing public sector institution.
The government has already removed the term ‘privatization’ from its dictionary, he said.
