Virat Kohli Writes Heart-warming Note To Kumar Sangakkara

As one of crickets greatest ambassadors Kumar Sangakkara readies to part away with the game in a matter of hours from now, Indian skipper Virat Kohli in a special gesture of respect, penned down his feeling for the Lankan stalwart who is playing his last game at P Sara Oval in Colombo.
 
In a note released by the Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI), Kohli hails him as a human first and a cricketer next, that speaks volumes of the aura Sangakkara has.
 
The Colombo Test between Sri Lanka and India is Sangakkara’s final outing after a career spanning 15 years. On day four of the match, the 37-year-old came out for his last knock to a rapturous reception from fans at the P. Sara Oval. However, he only managed 18.
 
Kohli wrote in his letter wrote: “Dear Kumar, it has been an absolute pleasure knowing you as a person first and no words can explain your great cricketing achievements.”
 
The flamboyant Indian further adds, “You have inspired so many people and shown them the way. Lucky to have played in the same era as you. Thanks for everything. God bless you and your family and wish you the best in life ahead.”
