While handing over five files to the Slave Island police Bodu Bala Sena had told police that they had mistakenly taken them away at the media conference held at the Nippon hotel on April 9 under the assumption that the documents actually belonged to the Bodu Bala Sena.
Meanwhile, the Slave Island police today listed the five concerned files containing documents which are claimed to have belonged to Ven. Watareka Vijitha Thera of Jathika Bala Sena (JBS) as the production items of the case before Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.
However, lodging a complaint at the Slave Island police Mahiyanganaya Pradeshiya Sabha UPFA member Ven. Watareka Vijitha Thera had alleged that five files containing important documents were stolen by BBS at the media conference.
In his complaint to police Ven. Vijitha Thera the UPFA Mahiyanganaya Pradeshiya Sabha member alleged that Buddhist monks belonging to the BBS, including its General Secretary Gnanasara Thera, had stormed the media conference and threatened him, leading to the disruption of the press conference.
He further alleged that he had been “chased after” by the BBS seneral Secretary and other members of BBS for a period of eight months. He further said he had made five complaints with the IGP and two complaints with Mahiyanganaya police over the threats against him and further alleged that no action was taken against the suspects.
