The death toll from the floods and landslides caused by torrential downpours as the Southwestern monsoon establishes over the island have caused loss to 183 lives, the Disaster Management Ministry (DMC) said.

Ninety-nine persons are still missing and unaccounted for, while 112 are injured.

575, 816 people have been affected by the adverse weather conditions while 76, 754 have been moved to safer locations.
