The Department of Meteorology says that  showers or thundershowers will occur across several regions, including the Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-western, and Northern provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts.

Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely in Puttalam, Mannar, Jaffna, and Kilinochchi districts. Showers are expected to occur in other parts of the island during the evening or night.

Additionally, strong winds reaching 40-45 km/h may affect the Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces, along with Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.
