Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the presidential candidate from the National People’s Power (NPP), plans to take legal action against people spreading what he describes as false information and conspiracy theories. Speaking at a public rally in Mirigama, he denounced his political opponents for resorting to baseless claims to counter his campaign's growing support.
He criticized his rivals, including Ranil Wickremesinghe and Sajith Premadasa, for what he called divisive and outdated tactics. He noted that his campaign is focused on national unity, contrasting it with the alleged racial narratives used by Sajith and the regional alignments of Ranil.
In response to criticisms from SJB’s Tissa Attanayake regarding potential impacts on traditional cultural events, AKD vowed to pursue legal recourse against those propagating such falsehoods. "We will hold accountable those who spread misinformation about our intentions, including claims about the Perehara," he asserted.
