The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has unveiled a new policy to empower Sri Lanka’s disabled community. At a Colombo event, Sajith Premadasa spoke about his plans to establish a Presidential Task Force to protect the rights of the country's 1.6 million disabled citizens.
Premadasa noted key measures, including a 3% employment quota for disabled individuals, increased allowances, and the removal of taxes on essential equipment. Additionally, he pledged to provide insurance coverage, facilitate bank loans, and enhance training and education opportunities for the disabled.
