Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has asserted that his party is uniquely equipped with a definitive plan to tackle Sri Lanka’s complex issues through urgent structural reforms. Premadasa said that real change requires a strong parliamentary majority and a commitment to reform, which he believes the SJB embodies.
Sajith criticized opponents for their lack of vision and self-interest, arguing that they lack the political will necessary for significant reform. He highlighted the SJB’s comprehensive blueprint for technological advancement and rational decision-making, positioning his party as the only one capable of delivering substantial constitutional and economic changes.
He also condemned other factions for their failure to enact necessary reforms and their obstruction of progress, accusing them of hindering Sri Lanka's potential to become a newly industrialized nation.
