A new political alliance in support of independent presidential candidate Ranil Wickremesinghe is set to be officially launched today. 

The alliance, led by main figures from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), will be chaired by Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, with Minister Ramesh Pathirana serving as its secretary.
