Opposition Leader and Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa  plans to establish an international Test Cricket Ground in Jaffna. Speaking at a media briefing, Premadasa outlined that the new facility will be part of a broader sports development program aimed at youth in the region. 

He said that during his previous visit, discussions about the need for a Test Cricket Ground led to this proposal. Sajith Premadasa revealed that although land for the project has been allocated by Sri Lanka Cricket, it has yet to be developed. The initiative will also include sports training facilities to support local talent.
