Bengaluru Air Customs officials arrested three Sri Lankans on Saturday at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) for their alleged involvement in an international gold smuggling operation.
The suspects were detained upon arrival from Colombo, and a search revealed gold concealed in paste form within their rectums.
The total amount of seized gold weighed 1,670.92 grams and is valued at approximately 11.9 million Indian rupees.
