Former Sri Lankan Cricketer Dulip Samaraweera Under Investigation for Misconduct in Australia

Former Sri Lankan Test cricketer Dulip Samaraweera is being investigated by Cricket Australia following allegations of serious misconduct involving a female player. The Herald Sun reports that the allegations pertain to historic conduct during Samaraweera’s tenure as Victoria women's cricket coach.

The 52-year-old, who was set to join the Australia A women’s team coaching staff for their series against India A, has been suspended pending the outcome of a Cricket Australia integrity investigation. A code of conduct hearing will be scheduled.

Cricket Victoria has declined to comment on the ongoing investigation. Samaraweera, who has coached in Australia for over a decade, previously served as head coach of the Victoria women’s team but left the role shortly after being appointed, reportedly due to a conflict of interest involving his brother.
