Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the presidential candidate of the National People’s Power (NPP), has vowed to eliminate drugs and underworld activities in Sri Lanka. In his latest campaign speech, Dissanayake spoke about his commitment to applying the law equally to all citizens to combat these issues.
Dissanayake pointed out that Sri Lanka, being an island nation, does not produce drugs domestically. Instead, narcotics enter the country through sea and air routes, with the Colombo port being a significant entry point. He accused powerful billionaires, allegedly supported by some politicians and police officers, of being behind these drug rackets.
