Co-chairma of The Grama Niladhari Professional Association, Mr Nandana Ranasinghe said today (18) that the ongoing work-to-rule action and black protest week by Grama Niladhari officers will end at midnight. The officers will resume their normal duties in support of the upcoming presidential election.
He also said that the officers, now serving as election officers, will focus on delivering public services and upholding election laws as neutral and impartial peace officers. He also mentioned plans to engage in discussions with the new president to address unresolved professional issues, warning that further professional actions could be taken if the issues are not resolved.
