The US Department of State said that Jennifer R. Littlejohn, the Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs, will visit Sri Lanka from August 19 to 21. This visit is part of a broader regional tour that includes stops in India and the Maldives.
During her time in Sri Lanka, Littlejohn will engage with government officials and partners to discuss key environmental issues, including nature and marine conservation, plastic and air pollution, and the climate crisis. She will also explore opportunities to connect Sri Lankans with US experts in areas such as hydrography and climate change.
She is also expected to visit US-supported wildlife protection projects.
