The Committee on High Posts, in a recent meeting held in Parliament, has approved several high-profile appointments, including six new ambassadors, a high commissioner, two ministry secretaries, and a chairman for a statutory body.

The approved appointments include:

S.A.P.P. Seram as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Indonesia.
R.S.K. Azard as the Ambassador to Qatar.
S.K. Gunasekara as the Ambassador to Russia.
A.S.K. Senaviratne as the Ambassador to Egypt.
N.M. Shaheed  as the Ambassador to Iran.
Y.K. Gunasekara as the Ambassador to Bahrain.
S.P. Walpita Gamage as the High Commissioner to New Zealand.

Additionally K.P. Chandrakirthi has been approved as the Secretary to the Ministry of Environment, and S. Weerasinghe as the Secretary to the Ministry of Industry.

The Committee also endorsed Dr. D.T.K. Bernard as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board.
