The Chief Prelate of Mihintale Raja Maha Vihara, Venerable Walahagunawewa Dhammarathana Thera, has extended conditional support to Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa ahead of the upcoming Presidential elections. Dhammarathana Thera, known for his vocal criticism of both the government and the opposition, stated that his support is contingent upon Premadasa fulfilling several promises if elected President.

"I ask the public to support Sajith Premadasa, but only on the condition that he will deliver on these promises. Let’s give this leader power and make him work," Dhammarathana Thera said in a public statement.
