A 31-year-old woman was murdered by her husband and his friend early this morning in the Thalahena area of Thalangama, police report.

The victim was attacked with a sharp weapon following an argument with her husband last week. Investigations indicate that the altercation escalated, leading to the attack carried out by the husband and his 44-year-old friend.

After the murder, the suspects abandoned the woman's body in the rented house where the couple lived and temporarily fled the scene. They later returned to report the incident to the police.

The husband, a resident of Hingurakgoda, and his friend from Galewala, have been arrested.

The Thalangama Police are conducting an ongoing investigation into the case.
