Tissa Karaliyadde, the former Medawachchiya Constituency Organizer of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and a former Cabinet Minister of Child Development and Women’s Affairs, has officially joined the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB). Karaliyadde, an agriculturist by profession, has also served as a Member of Parliament representing the Anuradhapura District.

Following his induction, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has appointed Karaliyadde as the co-organizer of SJB's Medawachchiya Constituency.
