The Kaduwela District Court ruled on Friday (31) that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Executive Council meeting, during which Minister Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, PC, was appointed Acting Chairman and Keerthi Udawatte was named Acting Secretary, was illegal.

As a result of this decision, the injunction preventing 20 SLFP members, including Acting Chairman Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva, from obstructing Rajapakshe and Udawatte in their duties has been lifted. District Judge Dulani Wickramasooriya, who issued the ruling, has adjourned the hearing until June 12.
