Deadline Set for Objections in X-Press Pearl Compensation Case

Five weeks have been granted to submit objections in the case filed at the Singapore International Commercial Court seeking compensation for environmental damage to Sri Lanka caused by the X-Press Pearl disaster. This decision came after a motion from the shipping company involved. The Attorney General's Department announced that objections can be filed until July 1st.

Time was granted to file objections against a motion by the Sri Lankan government in the High Court of Admiralty in London. This motion aims to remove restrictions that hinder compensation claims from the shipping company. The deadline for the shipping company to file these objections is June 28th, according to the Attorney General's Department.
