The Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast warning of heavy showers and windy conditions expected to sweep across parts of the island due to pre-monsoonal activity in both the country and surrounding sea areas.

According to the department, Western, Sabaragamuwa, Eastern, Northern, and North-western provinces, along with Galle and Matara districts, are anticipated to experience showers or thundershowers intermittently. Showers or thundershowers are also expected in several other areas of the island post-noon.
