The Department of Examinations has announced the implementation of a special programme aimed at preventing mobile phones from being brought into examination halls. This decision follows a notable increase in candidates attempting to illegally take their phones into the exams.
Commissioner General of Examinations Amith Jayasundara stated that stricter inspections will be introduced at the upcoming state-level examinations to address this issue. Under the new measures, any student found with a mobile phone in the exam hall will face severe consequences in accordance with the Public Examinations Act.
